Santa’s Surprise House Calls

Bringing the Holiday Spirit to children in need around Nanaimo,BC

Santa's Surprise House Calls is a passion project based in Nanaimo, founded by Santa Dave and Elf Alison. Each holiday season, they bring joy to children from select families by delivering gifts to their doorsteps. Santa Dave and Elf Alison not only bring wrapped presents, but also spend time engaging with each child, sharing laughter, stories, and a touch of holiday magic. To support this heartfelt cause you can donate new or unwrapped items like toys or books, which are always in high demand. Alternatively, cash donations are welcomed so that they can purchase items that are specifically requested. Your generosity ensures that Santa Dave and Elf Alison can continue spreading cheer to more families.

Our goal is to bring hope to the families we have chosen, and to the people in the community.

Pay it Forward at Christmas and throughout the year.

HOW IT WORKS

Elf Alison finds the families through various channels, and just like Santa she makes a list and checks it twice (actually numerous times). It is first come, first serve. We are a small team of two and have our list for this year. We will be delivering to 24 families, totaling 66 kids. We hope to fulfill their wish list and additionally give to a few mothers who are struggling with some basic needs❤️

We then ask for wish lists from each of the family members, noting the names for each list.

We put out a call to friends, families, businesses, and the community to help us fulfill the wish lists.

We then secure all the gifts, sort them, wrap them, and schedule their route.

Santa Dave and Elf Alison visit the families, delivering gifts and spending time with each family to help create some Holiday Magic.

TESTIMONIALS FROM 2023

BIGGEST rave ever for Alison and her partner for making my kids Christmas so MAGICAL! All the planning with the details of the kids’ interests. My 7-year-old is still vibrating with excitement, “Mom, that was the REAL Santa because he knew my elves’ names.” You guys embody the Christmas spirit.

Last night the kids were getting Santa‘s letters written and putting our treats for him and his reindeer at about 8:30 PM, my son wrote in his note. “Santa, I wish you could come see me before I go to bed so I can give you a hug.” Then a Christmas miracle happened at 8:50 PM a knock at the door and loud HO HO HO. The kids eyes lit up and their faces dropped. We opened the door and there was Santa. He came and sat with them, talked to them, and gave them each present. The kids were mind-blown speechless and just so shocked. I love the Christmas magic.
